Recently, IDC released a report titled "IDC PeerScape: Best Practices of Digital Factory Leaders in China". This report addressed the most common challenges encountered by Chinese enterprises in building digital factories. It selected representative cases of Chinese digital factory leaders, summarizing a series of advanced practical experiences. These include the standardization of production operations through the application of industry-leading composite technologies, ensuring digital coverage across all long-process stages, implementing comprehensive factor management based on the 5G+ Industrial Internet platform, optimizing MES systems, enhancing efficiency, and precise cost control. The report cited benchmark cases such as Jianlibao's collaboration with ROOTCLOUD in building a digital factory, providing insights and references to assist enterprises in their digital transformation and development.

The report highlighted the inefficiencies of traditional manual and experience-based management, such as low decision-making accuracy and poor interdepartmental response, necessitating the use of emerging technologies to build a data operation management platform to further improve product quality. Meanwhile, the absence of a comprehensive factor management solution can lead to resource losses.

Aligning with the national "new infrastructure and digital economy" strategy, Jianlibao introduced an Industrial Internet platform and collaborated with ROOTCLOUD to accelerate digital transformation in the beverage industry.

To address issues with its internal management system under the traditional model, Jianlibao has taken several key measures:

  • Launching a Coding Platform

Deployed automatic labeling machines on production lines to assign and associate codes for bottle caps, boxes, and pallets. Integrated the traceability platform with systems like SAP, MES, QMS, and TMS for data correlation.

  • Implementing Full-Factor Management Based on 5G+ Industrial Internet Platform

Established a 5G network within the factory park to transmit real-time data from equipment, energy consumption, and AI cameras to Jianlibao's Industrial Internet platform. Used data metrics and analysis to present and send alerts via management dashboards.

  • Upgrading MES System

Achieved paperless production through electronic batch records. Synchronized workshop inventory in real-time. Collected precise in-process product counts using barcodes and metering instruments, automatically capturing process and quality information. Integrated quality inspection standards into the system for online recording and automatic judgment. Created real-time, integrated, accurate, and flexible reports.

    • Implementing Digital Site Management

Fully integrated security devices for video centralized control and live video linkage. Installed face recognition at entry gates for automatic gate opening after image comparison. Enabled security video search for quick location of images. Monitored and identified 6S events in the factory area. Set up a safety situational awareness dashboard, using a 2.5D electronic factory map for situational awareness, live linkage, and alarm dynamic identification. Visualized safety situation applications, including safety situational awareness, alarm center, operation and maintenance center, and video center. Provided data interfaces through the data API module for third-party operation platforms to access data.

The Jianlibao Digital Factory leverages emerging technologies to synchronize production, sales, and distribution, enhancing decision-making precision through converged business, data, and financial flows. Its digitized management improves equipment utilization, reduces downtime losses, optimizes energy use, and cuts costs. Additionally, 5G messaging and traceability management reduce manpower by 33 percent, enhance traceability accuracy by 7.5 percent, and enable full-process tracing.

The IDC report pointed out that the Jianlibao case highlighted that intelligent manufacturing transformation should be holistic, leveraging 5G industrial clouds and big data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital factories should extend to both products and services, fostering sustainable enterprise growth.

Digital factories represent the core of new industrialization and are crucial for intelligent manufacturing. However, industrial enterprises face challenges in choosing solutions given the supply-demand imbalance. Tailoring strategies to each enterprise, with consulting services guiding digital factory blueprints and phased implementations, is the key.

ROOTCLOUD, recognized for its digital factory services in the IDC report, stands out for its operating systems, practices, and future strategies. Its capabilities in planning and construction, combined with its market reputation, make it a standout in the digital factory space.
