Partnership with AWS

We always keep an open but prudent mind in the selection of our partners. Being open means that we are very open to partners from diverse backgrounds, so as to meet our customers’ different needs and complex business requirements; however, since we were born in the industry and we serve the industry, we understand that providing stable and reliable industrial IoT services to our customers is the first priority for an industrial solution provider.

About AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally. Millions of customers—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—are using AWS to lower costs, become more agile, and innovate faster.

AWS has the most extensive global cloud infrastructure. No other cloud provider offers as many Regions with multiple Availability Zones connected by low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. AWS has 81 Availability Zones within 25 geographic regions around the world, and has announced plans for 24 more Availability Zones and 8 more AWS Regions in Australia, India, Indonesia, Israel, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). The AWS Region and Availability Zone model has been recognized by Gartner as the recommended approach for running enterprise applications that require high availability.

About MachineLink+

MachineLink+ is an IoT asset management solution for construction machinery. No matter where you are, you can monitor heavy equipment remotely and in real time by using your cell phone or laptop. With MachineLink+, construction and heavy machinery fleet managers can better monitor their equipment, improve equipment productivity and reduce the risks of unscheduled downtime.

MachineLink-and-AWS

With the CAN bus of the equipment connected to the T-AMS series products designed and produced by ROOTCLOUD, you can monitor your equipment’s location, status, fuel consumption and other data on MachineLink+ in real time to better manage your equipment and analyze the historical data to make better decisions. In addition, you can use MachineLink+ and T-AMS to give commands to your equipment, such as unlocking the equipment and setting geo-fences, to better schedule your equipment operations. For example, you will be notified when your equipment leaves the geo-fence you have set up.

AWS provides powerful computing power and data transfer service for MachineLink+

As the world’s leading cloud service platform, AWS provides rich computing, storage and security services to meet the needs of different types of work flows. Its global layout can help large international groups with businesses worldwide. To reduce network latency and jitter and improve the experience of users all over the world on MachineLink+, ROOTCLOUD directs user traffic to the application terminal node closest to the user with AWS Global Accelerator service. It routes to the nearest regional terminal node through the AWS global network without updating DNS configurations or modifying client applications.

In addition, AWS provides a series of security tools such as Secret Manager and corresponding SDKs to facilitate easy access and advanced security protection during the development. AWS also makes a lot of efforts to protect data storage, providing tools such as FTR Lens to help regularly and comprehensively inspect the service architecture and detect possible hidden problems in the system in advance to guarantee MachineLink+‘s availability and security.

Diversified cloud solutions to make MachineLink+ more reliable

The ROOTCLOUD platform relies on the AWS EC2 server clusters to provide stable and reliable PaaS solutions with high throughput and availability to assure customers of a stable and reliable experience. Therefore, MachineLink+, a SaaS solution built on the ROOTCLOUD platform, also ensures its stable, reliable and efficient services in this way.

Since the ROOTCLOUD platform needs to access massive IoT data in a stable, reliable and fast way, we have chosen Amazon RDS database engine service, which is compatible with mainstream SQL database engines, such as MySQL and MariaDB, and can provide more stable services than self-built databases and choose optimized instances for memory, performance or I/O according to the business needs.

The Amazon RDS database engine service helps ROOTCLOUD unify the daily management and automate the backup and recovery of its databases, which greatly saves time in database operation and maintenance for engineers.

Moreover, to ensure massive IoT data throughput, ROOTCLOUD also uses Amazon MemoryDB for Redis as the database cache to further support data-intensive applications like MachineLink+ that require low latency and high throughput.

Benefits for customers using AWS-based MachineLink+ solutions

Thanks to the cloud services provided by AWS, MachineLink+, based on the ROOTCLOUD platform, can guarantee its services with full connectivity, low latency, and wide coverage.

Full connectivity: Rely on AWS’s powerful computing power to connect all devices and monitor massive equipment data on MachineLink+ in real time to improve management efficiency.
Low latency: Global data services with AWS low-latency access and fast response that help you make instant analyses and decisions.
Wide coverage: Data are transmitted to the nearest server to guarantee your global business, ensuring that your equipment data worldwide can be accessed on MachineLink+.

In the future, ROOTCLOUD will work with AWS to help more enterprises in the construction machinery industry to access IoT technology, and improve their efficiency of overall operation, R&D, and maintenance. We are looking forward to cooperating with more and more enterprises and partners and bringing the industry into a new era.
