District Cooling System and Power Plant Co. Ltd (DCAP), a leading energy provider and a joint venture between PTT-EGAT-MEA are accelerating their efforts toward carbon neutrality with leading IoT solution provider, Rootcloud. This aligns with Thailand’s goals of attaining carbon neutrality by 2050 and achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
By using Rootcloud’s Integrated Carbon and Energy Platform (iCEP), DCAP develops an accurate Carbon footprint for Organization (CFO) reporting tool that is aligned with ISO 14064 standard which helps to establish their baseline emission as well as track their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction action plan.
Additionally, Rootcloud is facilitating DCAP’s engagement with TUV, an independent verifier, to ensure the accuracy of their initial CFO report. The solution covers 5 boundaries including DCAP-1, SAT-1 Chiller plant, MTB Solar roof, PTC chiller plant, and TG Chiller plant including solar abatement information linkage based on IoT solution.
In the future, DCAP plans to connect to the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) market online to acquire RECs for offsetting purposes, thereby achieving carbon neutrality.
This improves the reporting efficiency by 40% by saving continuous manual effort and eliminating reporting errors. In the future, DCAP also plans to connect to the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) market via iCEP to trade RECs for offsetting purposes, thereby achieving carbon neutrality.
